Meaning
Describes an attitude or manner as if one were saying so. Depicts a state where, even without speaking aloud, that feeling clearly shows in one's actions.
Examples
- 彼はもう帰れとばかりに、あからさまに時計を見た。 As if to say "go home already," he made a point of looking at his watch.
- チャンスとばかりに、彼女は一気に攻勢をかけた。 Seizing the chance, she launched a full offensive.
