〜からといって
Meaning
Expresses that, even though there is such a reason, it does not necessarily follow that the natural conclusion holds; this is stated afterward as a correction. It raises a seemingly reasonable ground while stating that the ground alone is not enough to reach the conclusion. Followed by a negative-toned statement.
Examples
- 安いからといって、買いすぎてはいけない Just because it is cheap does not mean you should buy too much.
- 若いからといって、無理をしてはいけない Just because you are young does not mean you should push yourself too hard.
- 一度失敗したからといって、あきらめることはない Just because you failed once does not mean you should give up.
