Meaning

Indicates that, because of the circumstance stated before, a fitting result, or one of intensified degree, naturally arises. Carries the nuance of all the more so precisely because of that position or situation. It is also used to emphasize disappointment when hopes or expectations are betrayed.

期待していただけに、結果を聞いてがっかりした Precisely because I had high expectations, I was disappointed to hear the result.
責任ある立場だけに、発言には慎重になる Being in a position of responsibility, he is careful with his words.
