Meaning
Uses an example to indicate the degree of something. It has an extreme, hyperbolic use similar to "so tired I could die," which emphasizes the degree by exaggeration, and a minimal-degree use like "at least say hello," which shows the lowest acceptable amount.
Examples
- 恥ずかしくて、穴があったら入りたいくらいだった I was so embarrassed I wanted to crawl into a hole.
- 自分の部屋くらい、自分で掃除しなさい At least clean your own room yourself.
- 立っていられないぐらい疲れていた I was so tired I could barely stand.
