〜に対して／〜に対する

Meaning

Indicates the person or target that an action or emotion is directed toward. In the form "〜に対する" it also modifies a noun. It is also used to contrast two matters, as in "〜であるのに対して" (whereas ~).

Examples

お客様に対して、失礼な態度をとってはいけない You must not take a rude attitude toward customers.
子どもの教育に対する関心が高まっている Interest in children's education is growing.
兄が社交的なのに対して、弟は無口だ Whereas the older brother is sociable, the younger is reticent.
