Meaning

Expresses a contrast meaning "even though ~, contrary to expectation." 「かかわらず」 is written 「関わらず」.

Examples

1. 雨にもかかわらず、大勢の人が集まった。 Despite the rain, a large crowd gathered.
2. 体調が悪いにも関わらず、彼は最後まで試合を続けた。 Despite feeling unwell, he continued the match until the end.
