〜にそって／〜に沿って

Meaning

Expresses proceeding along a road or line, or carrying things out without departing from a policy, expectation, or standard. 「川に沿って歩く」 is the physical usage; 「計画に沿って進める」 is the policy-following usage.

計画に沿って作業を進める We proceed with the work in line with the plan.
