〜ずにはいられない／〜ないではいられない

Meaning

Indicates being unable to suppress a feeling or impulse and doing something spontaneously. Used when one cannot control it by will and cannot help doing it.

Examples

あの映画の結末には、涙を流さずにはいられなかった。 I could not help but shed tears at the ending of that movie.
彼の身勝手な態度を見ると、一言注意せずにはいられない。 Seeing his selfish behavior, I cannot help but say something.
こんなにおいしそうなら、味見しないではいられない。 If it looks this delicious, I cannot resist taking a taste.
