〜までだ／〜までのことだ

Meaning

Expresses resolve or acceptance, "there is no other option; I'll simply do that." Used as in 「だめならやり直すまでだ」 (if it fails, I'll just start over).

Examples

この方法が通じないなら、別の手を考えるまでだ。 If this method does not work, I will simply try another approach.
誤解されたのなら、事実を説明するまでのことだ。 If I have been misunderstood, I need only explain the facts.
