〜きる／〜きれない

Meaning

Attached to the -masu stem of a verb, this expresses completing an action fully to the end, as in "read through to the end" or "use up completely." The "〜きれない" form expresses that something cannot be done completely because the quantity or degree is too great.

長編小説を一晩で読みきった I read the whole long novel in a single night.
マラソンを最後まで走りきった I ran the marathon all the way to the finish.
ご馳走が多すぎて、食べきれなかった There was too much food; I couldn't finish it all.
