〜につき

Meaning

A formal expression of reason, meaning 「〜のため」 (due to). Used in signs and notices to state, in a businesslike manner, that things are so because of a certain circumstance. Used as in 「工事中につき」.

Examples

工事中につき、通行止めとなっております Due to construction work, this road is closed to traffic.
本日は祝日につき、休業いたします As today is a public holiday, we are closed for business.
