〜（よ）うがない／〜（よ）うもない

Meaning

Indicates that even if one wants to, there is no method or means, and nothing can be done. Describes a state of being at a loss with no way to act. Attaches to the masu-stem of verbs.

Examples

住所も電話番号もわからないので、連絡のしようがない。 Without an address or phone number, there is no way to contact him.
ここまで壊れてしまっては、もう直しようがない。 It is so badly broken that there is no way to fix it.
本人にやる気がない以上、助けようもない。 Since the person has no motivation, there is no way to help.
