〜をもとに（して）
Meaning
Expresses creating or judging something based on a foundation or material. Indicates the basis, as in 「実話をもとにした映画」. The form 「〜をもとにした」 also modifies a noun.
Examples
- この小説は実話をもとにして書かれた This novel was written based on a true story.
- アンケートの結果をもとに、商品を改良する Based on the survey results, we improve the product.
